Leaves spirally arranged, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic, or rarely obovate, 15 - 80 (-100) x 5 - 20 (-26) mm, acute, glabrous except for a dense row of spreading cilia, dorsiventrally flattened, slightly tinged pink to red along margins and towards apex, old leaves remaining attached to stems.
