Roots fleshy, fusiform.
纺锤状的肉质根。
Stem nearly lacking, branching.
几乎无茎，可分枝。
Rosettes dense, up to 20 leaves.
莲座紧实，可达20片叶。
Leaves often deciduous during the dry season, narrowly oblanceolate, acute to acuminate, 2 – 4 x 1 – 1,5 cm, rather thick, above flat or shallowly concave, rounded beneath, often denticulate when young, yellowish green.
叶为窄倒披针形，叶子有尖或渐尖，2-4cm长，1-1.5cm宽，较厚，上表面平坦或微凹，下表面圆润；新叶常有细齿；干旱季节叶子常脱落。
Inflorescences spicate, to 30 cm tall, bracts appressed, to 3 cm, pedicels usually quite short, only rarely as much as 8 mm long.
穗状花序，可达30cm高；苞叶平贴，可达3cm；花梗通常较短，很少有8mm以上。
Flowers : Sepals unequal, to 3 mm, corolla 8 – 10 x 6 mm in diameter near the base, 4 mm in diameter at the mouth, petals scarcely spreacing at tips, scarlet at the base, yellowish above.
花：萼片大小不均，可达3mm；花冠8-10mm高，基部6mm直径，口部4mm直径；花瓣几乎不绽开，基部鲜红色，顶部黄色。

Whether Fig. 282, p. 208, in J. Pilbeam, Echeveria, of a 13 cm (!) wide seedling really shows E. pinetorum is rather doubtful.
