Description (according to IHSP 2003) :
形态描述（根据IHSP2003版）

Stem to 8 cm tall or more, ± 7 mm in diameter.
茎干8厘米高或更高，直径7毫米上下。

Leaves diffuse along the stem or subrosulate, oblanceolate, cuspidate, 3 – 6 x 1 – 2,4 cm, 6 - 8 mm thick, green, margin red.
叶沿茎松散生长或成半莲座型，叶倒披针形，骤尖，3 - 6厘米长1 - 2,4厘米宽，6 - 8毫米厚，绿色，叶缘红。

Inflorescences : racemes 10 – 20 cm, pedicel 15 – 18 mm.
花序：总状花序，10 - 20厘米长，花梗长15 - 18毫米。

Flowers : Sepals strongly ascending, to 11- 18 mm, corolla urceolate, 17 – 22 mm long, sharply 5- angled or 5-winged, scarlet below, yellow at apex.
花：萼片上翘，11 - 19毫米长，花冠壶状，17 - 22毫米长，锋利的五角星形或五边形，基部深红色，口部黄色。

Cytology : n = 17

Distributed as ISI 1643 in 1986 with the description : "Forming a small shrublet with dark green leaves, this species puts on a colourful display with its bright orange flowers. .... a plant collected ... by A. Lau at 2200m below Quiotepec, near Yolox, in the Chinanteca Alta, Oaxaca, Mexico; plants grew in humus in crevices of almost perpendicular rock."
